'Bring back Adidas': Chelsea fans all say the same about leaked home kit as Nike comes in for more criticism
Chelsea fans could be forgiven for longing for the good old days when they collected trophies for fun.
And that even extends to the reported home kit for the 2024/25 season with the latest leaked strip. Chelsea fans fuming.
The new design sees a strange ocean-like wave pattern incorporated with orange tips on the sleeves and around the club badge and kit manufacturer Nike's logo.
While it's important to emphasize that the design is a leak, the jersey also has a bright feel, similar to this season's current jersey.
The second kit has also been leaked, according to football headlineswhich has already been criticized by fans stating that it is just a copy of the new England shirt.
And it's safe to say that Three Lions fans aren't too happy with one key aspect of the design of the Euro 2024 shirt.
It seems like Nike can't do anything right at the moment, as many of the Chelsea faithful are desperate to get back to the good old Adidas days.
Criticizing the leaked home shirt, one fan wrote on X: “Horrible. Nike can't make Chelsea kits, they're almost always shocking.”
Another replied: “I miss Adidas damn, I miss Umbro too.”
A third was stronger, saying: “What is this atrocity? We need Adidas to come back. If sales are going down, Nike is the only reason.”
And this fan said: “Sponsorships are increasing every year on the kit… What kind of nonsense is this?”
While another simply stated: “Bring back Adidas.”
Chelsea signed a 15-year deal with Nike in 2016, ending a six-year deal with Adidas early to join forces with the US-based company.
It means Nike uniforms aren't going away anytime soon.
Chelsea's last Adidas kit was in the 2016/17 season, which was also the last time they won the Premier League when antonio conte I was in charge.
Since then, Chelsea have finished fifth, third, fourth, fourth, third and 12th, and are currently 11th in the standings.
It might be fair to say that Blues fans don't particularly like their Nike kits, which coincided with a difficult time at the club.
