“He was a very important coach” – The youngster from Barcelona thanks Xavi Hernandez for the trust shown
The big takeaway from Barcelona's season so far has been the emergence of many young talents from La Masia, who have gone on to establish themselves in the first team. Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi did so with great effect, as did Fermin Lopez, Hector Fort and Marc Guiu.
The latter couple recently spoke to Barcelona's official media channels (via MD), and it was there that Guiu – who scored in his debut in the first team against Athletic Club – spoke highly of coach Xavi Hernandez for the trust he showed in the younger players.
“I think that Xavi has been a very important coach for Barça, especially us young people, who give us a lot of opportunities. He is someone who should be appreciated.”
Guiu also revealed who has helped him the most since breaking into the first team.
“Everyone helped me, especially Lewandowski and Araujo. They helped me a lot. They are great people in general, all of them.”
Fort spoke about his idol, and admitted that it is a Barcelona legend
“Puyol. I think that his way of living the badge, feeling the colors and defending this team is a unique way, and to be admired. I believe and I think that is how everyone should do it, and I hope that one day I can do it like him “.
