Mallorca sells Copa del Rey allocation, Athletic Club brazen fans fail to ensure rickets

Eight days after Mallorca began selling their allocation for next month's Copa del Rey final in Seville, they have announced that all tickets have been sold. 700 tickets remained to be sold on Wednesday, with many arriving at Son Moix to secure their place for the historic occasion at La Cartuja.

20,698 tickets were sold by Mallorca, all of which went to their supporters. This is despite the best efforts of a few Athletic Club fans, who, according to an official spokesperson of the Balearic club (via MD), they traveled from Bilbao to secure tickets for themselves, after missing out on the allocation of Los Leones.

“At 5 o'clock in the evening, we put the sign sold out. The demand was very high and even more than one Athletic fan traveled from Bilbao to Palma to buy a ticket, without getting it, because they were not residents of the Balearic Islands, as mandatory”.

It promises to be a spectacular occasion at La Cartuja next month, as Majorca and Athletic Club both are going for Copa del Rey glory.
