Aston Villa is delighted to introduce a new city centre shuttle bus service, helping supporters to travel more easily and efficiently to and from Villa Park on matchdays.

With a nod to the club’s finest hour and our 1982 European Cup victory, the ‘AV82’ service will start on Saturday 30th March for our home Premier League fixture against Wolves. The service will run on a trial basis for all other men’s home matches until the end of the 2023/24 season, covering all Premier League and UEFA Europa Conference League fixtures.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden joined staff from Stagecoach as well as the club’s Transport Officer Andrew Watkin to celebrate the launch of the new service at Bodymoor Heath earlier this week.

Run by Stagecoach, the AV82 shuttle will pick up from outside Birmingham New Street Station on Dudley Street, running direct to Villa Park. Buses will run at regular intervals, starting three hours before kick-off for every home fixture. Buses will depart from Grosvenor Road and run back to Birmingham New Street at regular intervals for up to two hours after the final whistle for every game.

A return ticket for the shuttle bus is £5 and single tickets will be available for £3. Tickets can be purchased with cash or card from the bus driver, or purchased in advance through the Stagecoach app. Unfortunately, nBus, concessionary passes and the government’s £2 Help for Household single are not valid on the service.

Commenting on the introduction of the new shuttle bus, Andrew Watkin, Transport Officer at Aston Villa, said: “We have listened to requests from supporters and are delighted to be able to introduce this shuttle bus trial for all remaining games of the season. We hope that the buses will provide easy and reliable transport for many supporters, helping improve matchday experience for fans coming to Villa Park.”

Ian Campbell, Operations Manager at Stagecoach, added: “We are delighted to be helping fans with a quick, comfortable, and cost-effective shuttle service to get to and from Villa Park. We are pleased to be working with Aston Villa to help make supporter travel safer and more sustainable.”

All of the buses used on the AV82 route will be fully accessible for wheelchair users and will have low floors to make it easier for fans who use wheelchairs and mobility scooters, or for those with small children and pushchairs.

The buses can be used by both home and away supporters.
