Manchester United wants to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo

Man United are aiming to strengthen their attack ahead of next season and are seeking a deal for Olmo. The Spaniard has been in good form for Leipzig this campaign and daily mail that the Red Devils could approach to get his signing in the next transfer window.

The 25-year-old signed a new long-term contract with Leipzig in June last year. He is now contracted to the German giants until the summer of 2027, but interested clubs could still lure him away due to the £52million release clause in his contract.

Injury record

Olmo has had a relatively good season with Leipzig. He has recorded 7 goals and 4 assists in 19 outings. The Spaniard has averaged a goal every 110 minutes with the Bundesliga team in all competitions.

Despite the positives, his injury history is a major cause for concern. Olmo is already lost 27 matches per club and national team with injuries this season and this is something that could deter clubs from signing him this summer.

United are reported to be interested in his signature, but we would be surprised if the club made a bid for an attacker who has persistent injury problems. The club already has Anthony Martial who has gone through the same thing.

Martial has failed to stay injury-free over the course of a campaign. His current contract expires at the end of June and he is expected to be released on a free transfer despite the club having the option to retain him for a year.

United are therefore more likely to stay away from Olmo. It would be better for them to sign a young winger with potential. Someone like Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao would be a fantastic signing for a slightly lower transfer fee.
