Unai Emery hailed an important victory for Aston Villa after they took down Wolves at Villa Park on Saturday.
The head coach and his team began the final nine league games of the season with a 2-0 success, courtesy of goals from Moussa Diaby and Ezri Konsa.
Emery was pleased to have got back to winning ways at Villa Park after a tough loss to Tottenham Hotspur last time out in B6.
“I’m very happy,” he said.
“Here in Villa Park it’s special to play, especially after we lost against Tottenham in the last Premier League game we played here.
“It was very important to recover our structure, our gameplan, focusing and being successful in our way. We started a little bit soft and they were dominating the match.
“Progressively we were getting better and then we created chances and didn’t concede a lot in 90 minutes. I think we deserved to win.
“It was very important today to win with our supporters here.”
The matches are set to come thick and fast at Villa across April as the team look to maintain their place in the top four while also competing in the Europa Conference League.
Emery is well aware of how tough the run-in will be but remains keen to enjoy each positive result when it comes.
He said: “We are in day 30 and we have 59 points. Now we are going to focus on the next match on Wednesday against Manchester City.
“We are as well going to try and enjoy today and to be together with our supporters enjoying these three points.
“It’s still being difficult in the way we are trying to get in the next few matches, but with some injuries and suspensions we have to support the players that are playing and get them comfortable in our structure.
“Today was fantastic for them.”
