It's no secret that Real Madrid lacks options in central defense, and this has been amplified further by the recent ACL injury suffered by 16-year-old prospect Joan Martinez. He joins David Alaba on the sidelines, who is also recovering from a torn cruciate ligament – which he sustained last December.
Martinez had been expected to be part of Real Madrid's first-team squad for the foreseeable future until his injury, but that honor has now been awarded to Jacobo Ramon. AS Diary say the 19-year-old will be under Carlo Ancelotti's orders until Alaba returns to action, which may not happen until 2025.
Ramon played for Real Madrid U19 last season, under the orders of Alvaro Arbeloa. Now he will be teammates with Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior and co. for the next few months – and that starts with the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday, for which he was included in the team of the match.
