According to kicker, a bidding war could be set to start for Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné.
It has previously been reported that the Frenchman is looking for a route out for Gladbach this summer, with the Bundesliga outfit looking to grant the midfielder his wish as they hope to cash in on his signature.
However, as of yet, only AC Milan has made their interest concrete, submitting a €16 million bid for Koné.
While this is far away from Gladbach’s demand of €25 million, there is an understanding that a deal could be achieved closer to €20 million.
Nevertheless, as stated in the report, the Rossoneri are not the only club looking to sign the 23-year-old this summer.
Therefore, Die Fohlen are hoping that the other interested parties also make an official attempt to sign Koné in order to start a bidding war, subsequently increasing his value.
With the club looking to rebuild their squad, offloading their most prized asset would offer them the opportunity to recruit more players before the end of the transfer window.
