Riccardo Calafiori's move to Arsenal appears to be delayed amid an alleged dispute with his former club Roma.
talkSPORT understands the gunmen have reached an agreement in principle with Bologna To sign the center back.
Calafiori will join as Arsenal's first summer signing for an initial fee of £34m in a deal that could rise to £38m in add-ons.
The Italian's former team Basel, which he left to join Bologna last summer, are reported to be getting 50 per cent of the proceeds from the transfer.
However, Sports Gazettereport that Rome They believe they are entitled to more money from the sale of the player to Basel.
Calafiori joined the Swiss side in 2022 in a €2.5m (£2.1m) deal that included a 40 per cent sell-on clause on a future transfer.
A year later, he joined Bologna for €4m (£3.4m), for which Roma are said to have earned just over €1.5m (£1.3m).
Basel could now pocket 50 percent of Bologna's transfer fee if Calafiori joins Arsenal.
However, the Roma believe they are entitled to 40% of this sum and should therefore earn an extra €8m (£6.7m).
However, Basel believe the €1.5m (£1.3m) the Italian side received from Calafiori's sale is sufficient.
Lawyers are now said to be investigating the agreement between Rome and Basel, with the former being “irritated” with the latter.
Arsenal may therefore have to wait a little longer to welcome their man to north London.
