A rare moment shows Erling Haaland flicking the ball onto Gabriel's head as Manchester City grab a late equaliser against Arsenal
Erling Haaland was seen throwing the ball at Arsenal defender Gabriel after Manchester City's last-minute equaliser.
Arsenal were seconds away from securing a convincing win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium after playing the entire second half with ten men.
But substitute John Stones stole a late point to make it 2-2, finishing in the eighth minute of added time.
But while the focus was on Stones as he walked away in celebration, Haaland – who scored his 100th City goal this afternoon – went largely unnoticed as he raced to retrieve the ball from the net.
The striker collected the ball, but instead of running towards the centre circle, he proceeded to throw it at Arsenal defender Gabriel.
The Brazilian was at that moment with his back to the Norwegian, with his shirt over his head in frustration.
Whether the lob was deliberate or not, tempers flared after the goal and beyond the final whistle, with both players seen raging at each other.
Fans on social media noticed Haaland's movement after the game, with one writing with a smiley face: “As if that was Haaland's reaction to the equaliser.”
“Haaland is a threat,” wrote another.
A third joked: “I could have killed him!”
Haaland was also seen arguing with Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus, rounding off a tense showdown between the Premier League title rivals of the past two seasons that even saw Pep Guardiola storm out of his seat in frustration.
The Gunners had fallen behind after just five minutes when City's superstar striker Haaland scored his goal. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equaliser.
Riccardo Califiori then scored a long-range strike, marking his first start in style, before the Gunners unleashed their Gabriel cheat code when he scored from another corner with a towering header.
Arsenal's first win at the Etihad since 2015 looked in doubt when Leandro Trossard was sent off just before half-time for a second booking after kicking the ball out after pushing Bernardo Silva in the back.
The Gunners defended as best they could, so much so that Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz did not complete a single pass throughout the entire match.
But Stones stepped up to save the day for City, who battled for 45 minutes to break through Arsenal's wall.
His equaliser was the last goal City had scored in a Premier League match since the 2006/07 season.
It came on Pep Guardiola's side's 28th shot of the second half.
That is the second-highest number of shots by a team in the second half of a Premier League match recorded since the 2003/04 season.
Manchester City remain top of the Premier League, three points ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal.
