'Absolutely ridiculous!': Gary Lineker does hilarious Roy Keane impression that leaves Micah Richards in stitches
Gary Lineker stunned Micah Richards by mimicking the debate he had with Roy Keane after Arsenal's draw with Manchester City.
Despite being a former Manchester City player, Richards praised the Gunners for keeping Manchester City at bay in the second half after Leandora Trossard was shown a red card just before the break.
His fellow Sky Sports commentator, former Manchester United midfielder Keane, disagreed with the argument that Arsenal They were very impressive considering they still conceded two goals.
And Lineker obviously enjoyed the exchange so much that he couldn't help but mention it. The rest is football He, Richards and Alan Shearer do together
“Let me quote Roy Keane “I’m staring at you, Micah,” Lineker said.
When Richards told him to go ahead, the former England striker put on what we think It was Keane's Irish accent, and he said: “They conceded two goals.”
As a result, Richards burst out laughing and slumped back in his seat.
“It was a big chat between the two of you where he basically didn’t want to accept it,” Lineker smiled.
Asked by Shearer if it was a fight, Lineker, this time without an accent, continued: “It wasn’t a fight, but let’s say Roy wanted to make his points.
“He said, 'Well, anyone can defend, it's easy,' and 'I don't know what you're talking about, Micah, they gave up two goals, they can't be that good.'”
“It was ridiculous!” Richards laughed. “Absolutely ridiculous. He knows how to start conversations.”
Lineker simply smiled: “He knows how to be Roy Keane!”
Manchester City had initially taken the lead in the ninth minute thanks to a forward Erling Haalandwho pocketed his Goal number 100, record for Manchester City.
Riccardo Calafiori's long-range finish and a classic Gabriel header from a corner gave the Gunners the lead before the break.
From there, they were backed into a corner and their hard defensive work was finally thwarted in the eighth minute of added time when John Stones fired home after some last-ditch blocking in the box landed at his feet to equalise.
But despite having to settle for a point, Richards remains full of praise for Arsenal.
“That was really his (Keane) view of the situation,” he continued. “He said how could they play so well if they were conceding two goals.
“I understand that about the first one, but Haaland can do that to anyone. Haaland can do that when he’s one-on-one. I was talking more about the second half.”
Keane did not simply adopt Richards' view of Arsenal's performance.
He also had problems with the Gunners boss. Arteta's comments after the match on the referee's decisions, telling him to “have a bit of class.”
Never change, Roy.
