Adam Wharton stays at Crystal Palace, a blow for the European giants

Adam Wharton is set to stay at Crystal Palace this summer, talkSPORT understands.

The midfielder has been linked with a possible move away from Selhurst Park. Bayern Munich aiming for an agreement.

However, the 20-year-old will remain with the Eagles and will be a huge boost to Oliver Glasner's side.

Wharton was not the only Palace player on Bayern's radar this summer, with Michael Olise is already joining the German giants for a price of 60 million pounds.

Having progressed through the Blackburn academy, Wharton made his senior debut in August 2022 and made 28 appearances in all competitions that season.

Becoming a first-team regular at Ewood Park, the midfielder made 29 appearances for Blackburn in the first half of last season before securing an £18m move to crystal Palace.

It was expected to take some time to adjust to life in the Premier League, but Wharton has taken to the top flight like a duck to water.

Having started 15 of the remaining 16 Premier League games, Wharton established himself as a key player under Glasner.

This led to the then 19-year-old earning a call-up to the England national team. Euro 2024 team and will make his debut in a friendly against Bosnia in June.

Such has been the scope of his meteoric rise that Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid have all shown interest in him.

But Wharton will remain at Palace and hope to prove he is a fully-fledged Premier League star.
