Al-Hilal offering €40m for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman

Sky Germany reports that Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal have made their first offer for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

The offer is said to be worth €40m but no decision on his future has been made yet. Bayern are not forcing Coman out of the door but they are open to letting him leave this summer.

There is no rush for the deal to be completed today as Bayern are unlikely to engage in any other transfer business, while the transfer window in Saudi Arabia does not close until the 2nd September.

The arrival of Michael Olise this summer means that Coman has dropped down the pecking order at Bayern. Offloading the Frenchman would free up not only funds to invest further down the line but also help reduce the wage bill at the club. Leon Goretzka is also in a similar situation to Coman.

Coman joined Bayern in 2015 on loan before making his move permanent for €21m two years later. Since moving to the Allianz Arena, the 28-year-old has been a reliable option for Bayern on the wing, especially after the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. If Coman does leave he will be etched in Bayern’s history as he scored the winning goal in the 2020 Champions League final to help them win their sixth title.
