Former England striker Alan Shearer says there is no doubt that Ollie Watkins will be a member of Gareth Southgate‘s England squad for Euro 2024.
The Aston Villa striker continued his fine form with a sumptuous finish in Sunday’s shock 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Unai Emery‘s side produced a brilliant display in north London with Watkins wrapping up the three points minutes shortly Leon Bailey had broken the deadlock in the 84th minute.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2, Shearer said: ‘absolutely he goes, there’s no doubt about it.
’19 league goals. The way he finished that off, the way he was running in behind, the way he was causing all sorts of problems. Absolutely he’s going.’

Watkins is now just one goal behind Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot with Sunday’s strike his 19th in the top flight this term.
He featured in both of England’s friendlies last month and it looks as if only injury can prevent him making the plane to Germany this summer.
Villa’s win over the Gunners leaves them in fourth place, three points ahead of Tottenham.
Spurs have a game in hand and the battle for the fourth Champions League spot is set to go down to the wire.
Watkins continued his brilliant season with a wonderful finish at the Emirates on Sunday
