It’s almost certain that Alphonso Davies will leave Bayern Munich as a free agent next summer, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The Canadian international is nowhere near signing a new deal with the Bundesliga club with talks seemingly at a complete standstill. The ultimate feeling for all of those involved in the talks is that Davies’ mind is made up and he will leave when his contract expires next summer.
The situation between Davies and the club is rumoured to be tense and it would take a miracle for any new contracts to be signed.
Davies to Spain?
Davies has long been rumoured with a move to La Liga and in particular Real Madrid.
The 23 year old is very good friends with David Alaba who first met as Bayern players. Ever since Alaba’s move to Madrid, it’s been reported that the Austrian has kept close ties with Davies and selling Real as the ideal next destination.
Other reports have suggested that Barcelona may also try to sign the wing-back next summer and could compete with their Spanish rivals for his signature.
Davies is playing more of a starting role under Vincent Kompany this season having played the majority of games in all competitions. However, all signs still point to the exit door.
Currently priced at €50m on Transfermarkt, whoever signs Davies is getting an incredibly talented footballer whose price will only go up at the age of 23.
