In September 2023, the president Daniel Levy admitted that Spurs were willing to consider offers to sell a stake in the club.
“I have no real interest in leaving Tottenham, but I have a duty to consider anything that anyone might propose,” he told Bloomberg.
“It's not about me, it's about what's best for the club. We have 30,000 shareholders who own about 13.5 percent. We run this club as if it were a public company.”
Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League last season, in their first season under Angel Postecoglou.
The club has also performed well under Levy's leadership and is estimated to be worth around £2.9bn, according to consultancy group Football Benchmark.
However, after Tottenham posted a loss of £86m in the previous financial year in April, Levy admitted talks were underway to secure a “significant increase” in investment.
Another club on Staveley's radar is French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Staveley completed a deal to buy a ten per cent stake in Newcastle in 2021 and this stake had been reduced to six per cent by the time he left St James' Park.
