Manchester City star Ederson is not just a sweeper-keeper: he is Pep Guardiola's master of the hidden pass.
The Brazilian goalkeeper added his fourth assist in the Premier League for the Citizens in their 2-1 win over Brentford at the Etihad.
Ederson chose Erling Haaland in the 32nd minute with a high pass from the edge of his area.
Haaland, who had equalised 13 minutes earlier, made light work of it after brushing Bees centre-back Ethan Pinnock out of the way before slotting past the rapidly closing Mark Flekken.
It was the Norwegian's ninth top-flight goal in his first four games: a Premier League record.
But all accessories have to go to Ederson for his vision and passing ability, which has become his trademark since he joined from Benfica in 2017.
It was his fourth assist in the Premier League – and fifth in all competitions – having previously supplied in games against Huddersfield, Schalke, Tottenham and Brighton.
Ederson's assist is also the first for a goalkeeper this season.
And, remarkably, he now has more assists in the league than the Manchester United striker. Antoniowho is in his third season at Old Trafford.
The winger arrived with high expectations from Ajax after joining in a deal that amounted to a huge fee. £85 million.
But he has been limited to just three assists in 55 Premier League games.
Football fans love this incredible statistic, as one X user said: “Bro can play midfield better than most Brazilian players nowadays.”
Another commented: “What a ridiculously brilliant statistic!”
A third added: “One of the most incredible stats I've seen today.”
This fan then wrote: “To be fair, he'd probably score more goals if he was allowed to play outside too.”
Meanwhile, another simply stated: “This is a delight.”
Antony has been limited to just one appearance this season, with Amad Diallo preferred on the right wing by boss Erik ten Hag.
