Liverpool star Andy Robertson has shed light on his team-mates' thoughts on Jamie Carragher after the big club handed down its verdict on the Mohamed Salah contract controversy.
Salah He scored twice for Liverpool 3-2 victory about Southampton on Sunday, including the all-important winner, but it was what he said after the game that caught the attention.
Speaking to journalists, Salah admitted He is “probably more out than in” at Liverpool and has yet to receive a contract offer from the club.
With Salah's contract expiring at the end of the season, Liverpool won't want to lose him for anything.
However, Carragher was not a fan of Salah's comments and called the Egyptian “selfish.”
It seems that Carragher's verdict was not well received among Liverpool's stars.
Speaking with CBS Sports afterward Liverpool victory 2-0 On Real Madrid on Wednesday, CBS Sports host Kate Scott asked Robertson what the team thought of Carragher.
The Scot's response was brutal.
“He's been getting a little bit of pressure in the locker room, that's for sure,” Robertson said.
Carragher could only laugh along with the rest of the panel at Robertson's statement.
While Carragher may have been all smiles during Robertson's interview, he was in no mood to joke when discussing Salah's comments on Monday.
“Of course there have been discussions,” Carragher said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.
“At the moment there is obviously a big difference in the valuation of Mo Salah and his agent, whether financially or in terms of contract length, with what Liverpool do.
“So the reason Liverpool wouldn't have offered a contract yet is because Mo Salah will reject it. So they are still in talks, maybe… I'm desperate for them to meet in the middle.
“But I must say that I am very disappointed with Mo Salah.”
Carragher added: “Liverpool have Real Madrid in the week and Manchester City at the weekend, that's Liverpool's story at the moment.
“Mo Salah, we are all very aware, certainly the local journalists are in Liverpool, that in the seven years he has been at the football club, he has been in the mixed zone twice, which is his right, which which is absolutely fine.
“But he decided to stop for the third time at Southampton after winning the game against Liverpool and eliminating them.
“Now, the most important thing for Liverpool Football Club this season is not the future of Mo Salah, it is not the future of Virgil van Dijk and it is not the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“The most important thing is for Liverpool to win the Premier League, that's more important than any of those players.
“And if they continue to post comments or their agent keeps posting cryptic tweets, that's selfish, that's thinking about themselves and not the football club.”
