Ange Postecoglou has confirmed centre forward Richarlison will be out for up to a month with a knee injury.

The Brazil international, who has nine goals in his last 12 games for Tottenham, came off with the injury in the 71st minute of a 2-1 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He has not trained since and Postecoglou has ruled him out of games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Fulham.

‘He’ll be out for while, and it’s disappointing,’ said the Spurs boss. ‘Richy has been key contributor but that’s how our season has gone, we get one back and lose one.’

Heung-min Son is most likely to switch from the left to the centre against Crystal Palace.

Richarlison’s absence will be a huge blow after his run of nine goals in his last 10 games

ostecoglou has options, however, with Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner both able to operate through the centre.

Left back Destiny Udogie is fit again after injury but the Spurs boss said right back Pedro Porro was ‘probably another week away’.

Manor Solomon remains out and Ryan Sessgnon is not expected to play again this season after surgery on the hamstring in his right leg, an injury he picked up playing for Tottenham’s U21s in a bid to recover his match fitness after similar surgery on his left leg.

‘With Sess it is a tough one,’ said Postecoglou. ‘Through no fault of his own he’s worked hard to try to come back and it’s always more challenging when it happens as a series of events and he hasn’t really had any reward in terms of the hard work he’s put in for his rehab to really get out there and play and do what he loves. And just show people his ability.

‘It’s a tough one for him but he’ll get all the support he needs. He’s had his surgery now and he’s still a positive guy. He’s obviously been through this before so hopefully that helps him come back strong and get out there and play.

Tottenham did not play last weekend because they were scheduled to face Chelsea who were in the Carabao Cup final.

‘We’ve tried to use it as a semi-normal week without a game,’ said Postecoglou. ‘They haven’t had any time off. They’ve trained right through and it’s given us an opportunity to keep working on our game and those kind of things.

‘It hasn’t been ideal. It’s felt a bit like that all season, it’s been a really disruptive season apart from maybe the first 10 or 11 games when we were playing regularly. We had a bit of momentum and it just feels like we’ve had a lot of stops and starts to our season.

‘Now we’ve got a couple of games and again it’s the international break. After that break at least we know we’ve then got regular football until the end of the season.’
