Angelo Stiller set to be called up to the German national team for the September international break
Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia) reports that VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller is set to be called up to the national team for the upcoming international break.
After the retirement of Toni Kroos after EURO 2024, Nagelsmann made it clear that Stiller would likely feature in the next squad as, although he is not at the same level as Kroos, Stiller possesses a lot of the qualities that Nagelsmann is looking for in Germany’s midfield.
Germany’s September international break consists of games against Hungary in Freiburg and the Netherlands as they compete once again in the UEFA Nations League.
The upcoming international break will be one of great change for Germany after the retirements of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Ilkay Gündogan it will present new opportunities for players to feature in the senior national side. It has previously been reported that Freiburg midfielder Merlin Röhl is being monitored by Nagelsmann. While Rocco Reitz and Brajan Gruda could potentially feature after being involved with the squad prior to EURO 2024.
