Antonio Rudiger's injury scare has Germany and Real Madrid on alert

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger it is the heart of Germany's defense that they hope to see win Euro 2024, but his status before the knockout stages is unknown. The 31-year-old appears to have injured himself during celebrations for Germany's 92nd-minute equalizer against Switzerland.

Rudiger settled down after the celebrations, and did not appear to have any muscle problems beforehand, but could be seen holding his thigh afterwards. Presumably, if the problem had occurred much earlier, it would have been submitted as a precaution.

“Toni has a small problem with his thigh. We'll see what happens. I hope it's nothing serious. We'll see, it could be quite problematic,” explained Julian Nagelsmann AS Diary in his post-match press conference.

The veteran looks unlikely to have done any serious damage, but even a single week's absence could see him ruled out until the semi-finals, depending on how the games fall. Germany are also without teammate Jonathan Tah through suspension, after picking up his second yellow card against Switzerland, meaning if Rudiger doesn't recover in time, their next game will likely see Waldemar Anton and Robin Koch in the middle of defense.
