'Are you laughing?' – Jamie O'Hara slams Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for huge claim
Jamie O'Hara has mocked Erik ten Hag's bold claims about his impact at Manchester United.
In a recent interview, the Red Devils manager argued that he should be considered second after Manchester CityPep Guardiola in terms of his success in English football since arriving at Old Trafford.
The Dutch coach, who recently signed a contract extension for one year At the club, he claimed that, in terms of trophies, he has come closest to challenging the Spanish manager in his two years at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag has won two trophies since taking over Man United in 2022, including Last season's FA Cupthe second most of any manager in England after Guardiolawho has raised four in this time.
He said The times: “Of course (I feel stronger). This club didn’t win trophies, before I arrived, for six years.
“In two years after Guardiola we won the most trophies in English football. So we are in a strong position.”
While the 54-year-old admitted there was still much work to be done to turn his side into title contenders, he also highlighted United's victories over their rivals during his tenure.
He added: “Look, we can beat all our opponents. Not just once, but more than once against City and also against Liverpool.”
But Jamie O'Hara I was not very impressed with the Dutchman's reasoning, as he rejected the suggestion when it appeared in talkSPORT Breakfast along with Shebahn Aherne and Dean Saunders,
After being told about Ten Hag's comments by Aherne, the talkSPORT presenter appeared incredulous, replying: “Oh come on Shebahn!

“I mean, do we have to start all this again with Manchester United? They've done well. They've won some trophies.
“They are Manchester United. They have spent around £800m so they are entitled to win something.”
The ex Tottenham and Wolves The midfielder went on to criticise Ten Hag's comments, adding: “Is he laughing?
“They finished eighth, right? Last season was the best. The worst season they've had in the history of the Premier League.”
Aherne attempted to reason with O'Hara by pointing out Manchester City's heavy investment in their squad, before emphasising United's success in the FA Cup, but he remained unsympathetic.
Rejecting his co-host's argument, he asked: “Have you seen how Manchester City play? And they've won the league every season, for the last four seasons.”
O'Hara then played down the FA Cup win, adding: “Arsenal won the FA Cup, you know. Wigan won the FA Cup, didn't they?”
“That doesn’t make you a great team. Come on!”

While Saunders admitted there was some truth to Ten Hag's claims, he agreed with O'Hara's concerns: “In fact, he's probably right.
“But we've seen them play and at times they were shocking and chaotic.
“And many of their players get paid without trying hard. It's not all their fault, by the way.”
O'Hara also pointed out the question marks surrounding The future of Marcus Rashford in the club and the turbulent relationship between Ten Hag and The returning winger Jadon Sancho among other problems that could hamper United's progress.
He commented: “I still think he has a lot of problems for this season. A lot of problems.
“Rashford– That's a huge problem for them. Jadon Sancho“It's a problem. There are players who don't have legs in midfield.”

Despite O'Hara being quick to rubbish the Red Devils boss's comments, Aherne argued that fans of the 20-time English champions can still feel optimistic about the club's long-term future.
Referring to his recent transfer activity, the talkSPORT presenter said: “(Joshua) Zirkzee signed and Lenny Yoro signed And they are both young players.
“But they are talking about perhaps another four or five transfer windows, and then we will see the project begin to bear fruit.”
“Obviously, that's not going to happen in this window.”
