Arne Slot is inching closer to succeeding Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's new manager, talkSPORT understands.
Liverpool Bosses are confident of completing a deal for the 45-year-old Feyenoord boss, with the Dutch club receptive to negotiations.
Advanced talks continued on Friday after Slot publicly declared his I want to move to Anfield on Thursday night.
Following Feyenoord's 3-1 win over Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday, which saw them all but lose their Eredivisie crown to PSV Eindhoven, Slot opened up for the first time about his future.
“The clubs are negotiating. I’m waiting to see what comes of this,” she said.
“It's no secret that I would like to go to Liverpool. Now I am waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement. I have full confidence in that.”
Liverpool's pursuit of the Dutchman will come at a cost: Feyenoord are expected to recoup around £8.5m solely for Slot and not his team should they follow him to Merseyside.
Before Liverpool's trip to western ham At lunchtime on Saturday, Klopp was asked about his potential successor and he gave a ringing endorsement.
“I'm not involved in the process, just to clarify that,” the outgoing Liverpool manager said. “But I really like it if he's the one. He wants to take the job. Come on, let's go for it. Enthusiastic.
“I like the way your team plays football. All I hear about him as a guy is that he's a good guy. Some people I know know him, but I don't know him yet. Some people tell me that he is a very good guy. I like this a lot.
“Good coach, good kid. Looking forward to the club if he is the solution or the man. I am more than happy. It's not my place to judge these things but it all sounds great to me.
“This is the best job in the world, the best club in the world. Obviously now I even helped by not finishing at the top, it seems. There is room for improvement. Great job, great team, fantastic people. “I would take a really interesting job.”
