Arne Slot hilariously criticises Jamie Carragher after the former Liverpool man noticed something 'strange' in their first win at Anfield
Arne Slot couldn't help but poke fun at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher on Sunday afternoon.
Slot led the Reds on his debut at Anfield in a match they won 2-0 against Brentford thanks to goals from Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah.
As well as achieving two victories in two To announce himself as Liverpool's favourite, Slot then won over Premier League fans at large with a hilarious post-match taunt.
Carragher served as commentator alongside Jamie Redknapp, Izzy Christiansen and lead presenter Kelly Cates during Sky Sports' coverage of the match.
After the match, the former Liverpool The defender was analysing Liverpool's performance when Cates spotted the new Reds boss walking towards them to conduct a live interview after the match.
Clearly distracted by his next guest, Cates interrupted Carragher mid-analysis and jokingly said, “I'm not even listening to you,” to which Carragher laughed and replied, “I'm talking to you and you're not even looking at me!”
Slot then shook hands with the panel and took the microphone from Cates, saying, “Does anyone ever listen to it?”
As everyone laughed, Cates was heard saying: “After two games, he's got the measure of Carra!”
While Slot's appearance after the match was a huge success, Carragher explained that he thought the atmosphere at Anfield was a little more strange considering it was the Dutchman's first game there.
Carragher explained: “I thought the atmosphere was strange, considering it was the first home game of the season.
“Is it because the style of play is going to be different than today?” Jurgen KloppIt's not going to be that complete, I don't know, but it was a strange atmosphere.
“It was like a Manchester City performance, in the sense that there didn't seem to be much danger in the game.
“I don't think Slot's Liverpool will be as exciting as Klopp's.
“It’s going to be different and I wonder how it will affect the atmosphere because it felt strange.
“But it could be more successful.”
Liverpool travel to face Manchester United at Old Trafford next Sunday before returning to Anfield on Saturday 14 September against Nottingham Forest.
