Royal Society star Martin Zubimendi will not be targeted again by Liverpool in the January transfer window.
Real have held their ground in the battle to keep their midfield star during the summer as the Premier League giants launched an ambitious move to bring him to Merseyside in August.
As the saga progressed, the Basque side left the final call to the player, and despite Liverpool's willingness to pay his €60 million release clause in San Sebastian, Zubimendi chose to stay.
It was met with frustration on Merseyside, as Liverpool thought the deal was done, and Arne Slot openly admitted they had missed out.
Recent reports have indicated that Zubimendi regrets his decisionand asked Liverpool to reconsider, despite the major change it would involve.
Slot was asked about the potential for a revival in his interest in the Spanish international and the Reds boss was clear about his position.
“There is nothing to talk more about Zubimendi because he has been in Real Sociedade. Also, we have progressed and we are very happy with Ryan Gravenberch,” he said.
