Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo, according to Insider information about football.

Having moved to the Gtech Community Stadium from French side Troyes in 2019, the 25-year-old has established himself as a key player for the Bees in recent years.

After helping Thomas Frank's side secure promotion in 2021, the Cameroonian has proven his qualities in the Premier League of late and has started the new season in excellent form, scoring three goals in three Premier League appearances.

Amid the absence of Ivan Toney due to his suspension after being found guilty of breaching betting rules, Mbeumo was Brentford's main man during the early part of last season.

But with Toney's departure for Saudi Arabia this summer, the onus will now be on the African to prove he can be the club's talismanic figure.

However, Insider information about football claims Mbeumo has entered the final two years of his current contract and Brentford are not willing to keep him unless he signs a new deal.

Liverpool are showing strong interest and Frank's side are said to be open to letting Mbeumo go if the Reds submit a formal proposal worth more than £40m next summer.

However, the report says Arsenal are also interested in securing his signature and can also wrap up the deal if they shell out more than £40m for Mbeumo at the end of this season.

Besides, Aston Villa Arsenal and Liverpool are also in the race, with Nottingham Forest making a formal bid to sign the 25-year-old this summer and potentially rekindling their interest next year. Arsenal and Liverpool will therefore have to overcome tough competition to seal a potential deal.

Mohamed Salah He has entered the final year of his current contract, so if Liverpool ultimately fail to retain him, Mbeumo could be a shrewd acquisition for the Merseyside club if they buy him.

On the other hand, Arsenal have been looking to sign a new right winger to support Bukayo Saka so Mikel Arteta He could try to bring Mbeumo to north London in 2025.

Raheem Sterling joined the Gunners this summer, but has signed a loan deal and is expected to return to Chelsea next year, so Mbeumo could be a solid acquisition if the Gunners buy him next summer.
