The draw for the quarterfinals of the Champions League took place today in Switzerland as Arsenal and city of manchester discovered his destiny.
It was an open draw, meaning there was no seeding or country protection, so clubs from the same nation could play each other.
Real Madrid-Man City
Reigning champions Manchester City easily reached the round of 16 of the competition with a comfortable victory over Copenhagen. After winning the first leg away 3-1, Pep Guardiola's men finished the job with another 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium last week. Manuel Akanji, Julián Álvarez and Erling Haaland They all got it right to secure a 6-2 aggregate victory.
City now face the Spanish giants real Madrid in the next phase. Madrid beat RB Leipzig 2-1 on aggregate and will now have to face defending champion City to earn a place in the semi-finals.
Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
Arsenal were pushed all the way by Porto in their round of 16 tie. Despite dominating the first leg away from home, Arsenal struggled to create clear-cut chances and were forced to pay after Porto scored a last-gasp wonder goal to take a 1-0 lead.
The second leg at the Emirates Stadium was tense but Leandro Trossard tied the tie with a great goal. Neither team could find a winner so it went to penalties and David Raya was Arsenal's hero after saving two spot kicks to book their place in the quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years .
The Gunners will now face German giants Bayern Munich, meaning a reunion with the former Tottenham Striker Harry Kane. Bayern reached the quarterfinals after recovering from a first-leg defeat to beat Lazio 3-1 on aggregate.
The first leg will be at the Emirates and the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
Other ties
Atlético de Madrid secured their place in the round of 16 after an exciting match against Inter Milan. After the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate, Atlético advanced after winning the penalty shootout on Wednesday night.
Atlético will now face Borussia Dortmund after the Germans easily advanced to the quarter-finals after beating PSV Eindhoven 2-0 in the second leg, advancing 3-1 on aggregate.
The last quarterfinals face Paris Saint-Germain Barcelona.
