Arsenal have launched their new home kit which features the iconic cannon symbol instead of the club's traditional crest.
The Gunners published the images of the new kit for the 2024/25 season on Thursday morning as Adidas opts for a “timeless look.”
Covered in the club's traditional colors of red and white, Adidas has added a navy blue theme to the kit with the manufacturer's three stripes on the shoulders, while navy blue is also present on the bottom of the shirt and shorts .
However, the biggest change is seen Arsenal opt for their famous cannon emblem for the first time since the 1989/90 season.
The cannon has been used several times on the away kits since then, but the north London giants have decided to give the home kit a retro look, resemblance to when the Gunners were top-flight champions under manager George Graham .
The new design, which has been marketed by the club as “the year of the cannon”, appears to have gained the initial seal of approval from fans who flocked to social media to give their opinion on the new release.
One fan wrote: “The kit looks great.”
Another added: “This shirt is beautiful.”
A third fan posted: “Our t-shirts are always the best! I'll get one ASAP!
Another wrote: “The year of the cannon. I love the sound of that.”
While a rather ambitious Arsenal fan added: “The kit with which we will win the first Champions League under Arteta.”
The good news for fans is that the iconic cannon will be used on all three Arsenal kits during the 2024/25 campaign, for both the men's and women's teams.
In reaction to the launch of the new kit, the gunners advance. Gabriel Martinelli He said: “Since joining Arsenal, it has been clear to me how important Cannon is to this great club and our fans. “It represents our spirit and we are excited to wear it proudly on the field next season.”
Arsenal Women and England Lionesses star Alessia Russo added: “I love the simplicity of this new kit, which gives the cannon room to shine. “We know how much he means to the fans, so having him front and center on our home kit will fill us with confidence every time we step foot on the pitch.”
The women's team will have the honor of donning the kit for the first time when they take on Brighton in their final match of the WSL season on Saturday.
