talkSPORT transfer log We previously brought you the news that the Magpies face being forced to cash in on one of their best players to raise funds for summer signings and avoid breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

Now talkSPORT football correspondent Alex Crook has confirmed there could be something big about the Magpies receiving a £100m bid from Arsenal for Isak this summer.

“The point of the PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) in their current form is that you should be seen to make a profit on your transfers.

“Therefore, there is no point in selling it for £80m, that will only be a £20m profit on the balance sheet.

“I think if someone is going to put a £100m offer on the table then Newcastle would have to make a decision. I think there is some substance to the Arsenal rumours.”

Newcastle are likely to be even more keen to cash in on the fan favorite if they finish outside the European places, currently sitting in eighth place, five points off the top six.
