Quality forward
Gyokeres has been in sensational form for Sporting since his move from Coventry City last summer. He has recorded 36 goals and 15 assists in 42 games. The Swede has also been among his country's targets and it looks likely that he will join a bigger European club at the end of the campaign.
Gyokeres' agent has already confirmed that manager Ruben Amorim was the key reason for the striker to move to Lisbon. With Amorim potentially leaving the club for Liverpool, Hasan Četinkaya has confirmed that the 25-year-old will find it difficult to continue at Sporting next season.
Arsenal are among his biggest admirers and could come close to signing him as soon as the season ends. The club attempted to complete most of their transfer business last summer before pre-season and could pursue a similar strategy this summer to give Gyokeres time to fully adapt.
The transition from Portuguese football to first division It hasn't been easy for many players. Liverpool's Darwin Nunez was unconvincing in his debut campaign for Liverpool, but he looked much better in his second year. Arsenal hope Gyokeres does not follow the same pattern. The club wants a regular goalscorer up front like players like Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah consistently fails to impress. Kai Havertz He has done well as number 9, but his future could be in midfield.
