Bukayo Saka politely turned down a young boy's bold request to leave Arsenal and join… League One strugglers Charlton.
The Gunners star has seen an improvement in form in recent weeks following a drop in form compared to last season, helping him claim the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Despite a minor drop, Saka has still shown his importance to Mikel Arteta's title-chasing team, having scored 15 goals and 13 assists in 33 games in all competitions this season.
Saka has been a key part of Arsenal's rise as title contenders while also playing a key role in England's set-up.
That has generated a lot of interest in the 22-year-old, apparently none else in the entire capital.
Saka was propositioned during a recent visit to the Gunners' academy in Hale End, the place where it all began for the star.
However, the request for his services came from a boy dressed in Charlton colors intent on persuading Saka to head to the Valley.
The boy said ambitiously: “Can you join Charlton?”
But unfortunately he didn't get the response he and Charlton fans would have wanted when the Three Lions Star responded politely; “No, no, Arsenal is too much in my heart, I'm sorry guys, I'm sorry.”
Few can blame the young man for trying, but it is clear that if he does not succeed as a professional footballer, he may have a future as a sports director!
Saka's quick visit came after his team's. Last-gasp 1-0 defeat against FC Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Gunners were defeated by a magnificent goal from Galeno in the dying seconds. The result means Arsenal They have everything to do in the Emirates in three weeks if they want to qualify for the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Saka and company turn their attention to domestic matters when they host Newcastle on Saturday night.
The Gunners were beaten 1-0 at St James' Park in November thanks to a controversial Antonio Gordon winner.
