Arsenal is one of a number of teams that have identified the Espanyol goalkeeper Juan Garcia as a potential future star, but their interest in him was put on hold. The 23-year-old recently returned from Paris with an Olympic gold medal in hand.
Garcia broke into the Espanyol team last season, and was a key part of their promotion play-off run. Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Arsenal all have shown interest in Garcia, but it seems the Gunners are more focused on him, with a potential number two opening coming up.
However with this in mind, The Athletic report that while they lined up Garcia, they won't make a move until Aaron Ramsdale is sold. The 26-year-old was the subject of an approach from Ajax, but not satisfactory.
It has been said that Espanyol will demand around 25 million euros to allow Garcia to leave the club. His performances saw him earn number one in Cornella, and he was capped through the age groups for Spain. His stopping and his size certainly impressed last season.
