London Stadium sources claim that the Hammers They were willing to pay £40 million for Duran, but this is believed to be nowhere near the villain's valuation.

It is believed that at least £60 million would be needed to Villa even accept an offer.

In the summer, Duran He was linked with both West Ham and Chelseaand the striker even hinted at a move to east London on social media.

He made an Irons-like gesture during an Instagram live video while on holiday, only to ultimately remain in the West Midlands for the first half of the season and score the winning goal against the Hammers in August.

And his form since then has done little to discourage potential suitors.

Halfway through the campaign, the lethal striker has 12 goals in all competitions, despite primarily acting as a substitute for Ollie Watkins.

Many of his contributions have been eye-opening, and his goals include winning goals against Leicester City, Everton, Southampton and West Ham in the league.

Durán has also shone on the European stage with three goals in the Champions League, including the famous Late winner against Bayern Munich..

And his exploits this season have not only caught the attention of Premier League clubs.

Earlier this monthLigue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain were rumored to be among those interested in acquiring Durán's services.

And while the Villa frontman would join the likes of Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé and Lee Kang-In if he moved to the French capital, he would face far less competition at West Ham.

The Irons have struggled for goals this season, with winger Jarrod Bowen leading their scoring charts with five league goals, while summer signing Niclas Fullkrug -now injured- has only scored two goals.

But with Arsenal also currently in the market for a new strikertalkSPORT chief football correspondent Alex Crook admitted the Gunners could also be interested in Durán.

On White and Jordan, Crook said: “Jhon Duran is obviously a player who has proven himself in the Premier League and Aston Villa have rejected fresh interest from West Ham.

“I am told that West Ham are willing to pay £40m for Duran in this window; That was a source of laughter in the city.

“But if they have the funds, I think Arsenal fans would probably agree that John Duran could be the type of player who can really help them keep the title fight going in the second half of the season.”
