Aston Villa player Amadou Onana has poked fun at his now-famous quote that went viral in the summer.
The midfielder shared a series of images on Instagram of him wearing a vest with a viral quote on the front.
The quote read: “Andre isn't even my name, dude!”
Of course, Onana's vest refers to a famous interview with a group of journalists that took place during the summer.
The 23-year-old, who was playing for Everton at the time, was visiting Euro 2024 with Belgium and had just featured in their 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in their opening game of the tournament.
After the match, Onana was in the mixed media area and conducted an interview with a journalist which went off without a hitch.
Once the interview was over, another journalist quickly tried to contact him to chat with him for a while.
But instead of calling him Amadou, the journalist called him André, a name that does not belong to him.
Of course, Andre Onana is a famous name, and the Cameroon international is one of the most famous goalkeepers on the planet, having played for Manchester United.
Clearly annoyed by the mistake, the midfielder said: “Andre isn't even my name, mate, you know what I mean?”
Such was his level of irritation, that Onana ignored the journalist in question and instead began speaking to a different reporter.
Onana was part of the Belgium squad that reached the last 16 of Euro 2024, but his busy summer didn't end there.
The 23-year-old then completed a £50million move from Everton to Aston Villa, where he will play in the Champions League this season.
His start at Villa Park could not have been better, scoring two goals in three games for Unai Emery's side.
Villa are currently seventh in the Premier League after winning two of their three games so far.
The next game will be at home against Onana's former club, Everton, on Saturday 14 September.
