Borussia Dortmund will travel to the Wanda Metropolitano for their Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie against Atlético Madrid next month.
Speaking ahead of Dortmund’s game against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, Edin Terzic reacted to the draw.
“It’s a very interesting draw, a strong opponent. We’re looking forward to travelling to Madrid. Atlético is a little monster that has to be defeated,” said Terzic.
Just like in 2013, an all German Champions League final is possible. Should Borussia Dortmund beat Atlético, they will face Paris Saint-Germain or Barcelona, while Bayern Munich travel to Arsenal and should they knock out Mikel Arteta’s side, they will face Manchester City or Real Madrid.
Dortmund and Atlético also met in the 2018/19 Champions League with the two teams drawn in the same group. BVB beat Atlético 4-0 at the Westfalenstadion but Atlético got their revenge in the reverse fixture, winning 2-0.
The Champions League quarter-finals take place on April 9 and 10, with the second-leg scheduled for one week later.
