Atletico Madrid are asking about the midfielder in Saudi Arabia as the defender is close to the exit

Atletico Madrid are still looking to bring in another player this summer, which was admitted by Diego Simeone on Tuesday. It seems that his goal will be a central midfielder.

The Rojiblancos have been linked with a loan move for Manchester City's Matheus Nunes, and they have opened discussions with Luis Milla at Getafe. A third option has also emerged, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that they have made an inquiry for Al-Ahli. Gabriel Veiga.

The outcome of this investigation is still unknown. Veiga made the move to Saudi Arabia last summer, a switch that was famously called “embarrassing” by Toni Kroos. Veiga has not had the desired impact in the Middle East, scoring four times and assisting four times in his 23 appearances so far.

Meanwhile, Atleti is also looking for a potential exit, with Call Galan in talks with Besiktas and Galatasaray in Turkey. He has no place in Diego Simeone's plans.

It looks like the Colchoneros will be aiming for more competition in the squad for places this season, as they already have plenty of options in midfield. There has been talk that Thomas Lemar could also be pushed towards the exit door, but less mention of a potential destination.
