Atletico Madrid are still in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Joao Felix, with Conor Gallagher in limbo pending the resolution of those talks. Los Rojiblancos clearly have their doubts about whether he will pass.
Gallagher signed a deal with Atletico, and even trained with Atletico, after a €40 million move was agreed. However, this was dependent on Samu Omorodion's transfer to Chelsea, and after the deal fell through, Felix looks like Gallagher's last hope as talks continue. He has been told by Chelsea to return to London pending the conclusion of those talks, where he will train with the under-21s.
Relief they report that Atletico have inquired about Al-Ittihad and French midfielder Ngolo Kante. The 33-year-old is coming off the back of Euro 2024 with France, and has a deal until 2026 in Saudi Arabia, but Kante, following an approach from Atletico, has expressed an interest in joining Los Rojiblancos.
Despite previously agreeing a deal for Javi Guerra's Valencia, and seeing it fall through, it looks like they won't be going back to Mestalla with another offer. Kante's salary would be a major obstacle to a move, but if Al-Ittihad are open to letting him go, then they would have negotiated for a much lower fee than Guerra or Gallagher.
