According to Bild, Atlético Madrid are ready to make a €30 million offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Füllkrug.
It had recently been reported that AC Milan were holding talks with the German international regarding a move to the San Siro. However, Atlético are set to overtake the Italian outfit in the race to sign Füllkrug this summer.
It is understood that the decision to sign the 31-year-old has already been agreed upon internally, as has the transfer fee of €30 million. This would see BvB almost double their profit on Füllkrug, having signed him for €17 million last summer.
As stated in the report, Atlético are looking to replace Álvaro Morata, who recently completed a move to AC Milan. Diego Simeone is said to be impressed by Füllkrug’s finishing ability and can imagine the former Werder Bremen forward making the same impact from the bench for Atlético as he had for Germany at Euro 2024.
Nevertheless, Atlético would be looking to pay part of the fee in performance-related bonuses. It has already been reported that Dortmund would be willing to offload Füllkrug this summer, but it is currently unknown whether Die Schwarzgelben would be hoping to receive a fixed-priced transfer fee.
Therefore, the structure of the transfer would have to be negotiated in order to suit both parties.
