Atletico Madrid get a boost as player returns to full training 13 months after injury
Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Lemar suffered a terrible last year, hampered by several injuries after an Achilles tendon problem. The only player who has not made his debut in Diego Simeone's team so far, he has spent 13 months without competitive action.
Lemar made some appearances during their pre-season friendlies, but now AS Diary say that the French is trained as normal with his teammates, rather than on a reduced workload. The hope is that his leg will respond to the increased stress, and keep it. He has not played since September 16, 2023.

A player that Simeone likes in terms of his qualities, Los Rojiblancos opened the exit door for Lemar in the summer due to his significant salary, but with his injury history as it is, there was no offers.
Athletic He faces Leganes this weekend, followed by Lille in the Champions League, Real Betis away and Vic in the Copa del Rey. The latter may represent Lemar's best opportunity to return to the field.
