Kicker reports that Young Boys defender Aurele Amenda’s move to Eintracht Frankfurt is to be delayed until January.
Frankfurt had aimed to improve their defensive options in January and had agreed a deal worth €8-10m for the 20-year-old with the defender also set to sign a contract at the club until 2028. However, the deal relied upon Young Boys signing a replacement, which they could not do.
The move is all but announced, and the 20-year-old will move to the Bundesliga in the summer.
Die Adler are clearly looking to improve their defence and reduce the age. The club have already announced the summer signing of Nürnberg defender Nathaniel Brown. While the summer signings of William Pacho and Niels Nkounkou also suggest that Frankfurt sees Robin Koch as their leader in defence and wants to build with youth around him.
Frankfurt were one of the most active Bundesliga clubs in the summer as they looked to finally replace the departed Randal Kolo Muani. On the attacking front, Frankfurt signed Jean Bahoya (Angers) permanently, Sasa Kalajdzic (Wolves), and Hugo Ekitike (PSG) on loan whilst Donny van de Beek also joined on loan from Manchester United to add depth to Frankfurt’s midfield.
