150 years ago, a spark was lit. In the heart of Birmingham, a club was born.

The founding father of the league. The builders of dreams. This is where it began.

The original claret and blue. Pioneering. A club of firsts.

Through eras of glory and grit, 150 years of history.

A night to honour it all. A night to kick off the next chapter…

Aston Villa is excited to announce our FA Cup third-round tie against West Ham United will be the club’s dedicated 150th anniversary match.

As we continue the season-long celebration of our beloved club, we’re excited to honour this significant moment in history with our fans, players and custodians of Aston Villa – a night to remember when and where it all began, almost 150 years to the day, with the club’s first ever recorded match taking place in January 1875.

Unai Emery’s side host the Hammers at Villa Park on January 10 (ko 8pm) for what promises to be a special occasion for every Villan, with a Friday night game under the lights at our famous home adding to the spectacle.

Fans from near and far won’t want to miss this – a once-in-a-lifetime celebration at Villa Park.

The excitement begins with a pre-match experience like no other, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. Alongside the action on the pitch, supporters can enjoy exclusive promotions on food, drink, and retail, making this a truly unmissable occasion. Be there, be part of history, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The AV150 Honorary Board, which is comprised of former players, managers, community, fan and club representatives, have played a key role in planning the anniversary match.

Lord King of Lothbury, Mervyn King, Guy Rippon, Marisa Ewers, Rob Bishop, Ian Taylor, Brian Little, Dennis Mortimer, Katharine Merry, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Guri Nandra, Aaron Jones, Pam Bridgewater and David Bridgewater make up the Board and have provided valuable input throughout the club’s 150th anniversary season.

Chris Heck, President of Business Operations, said: “Everyone at Aston Villa would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the 150th Anniversary Board for their incredible work this season.

“This milestone match will be a proud and memorable occasion for everyone connected to the club. Under the lights of Villa Park, we look forward to sharing what promises to be a truly special evening in the FA Cup with our supporters and the entire Villa family.”
