Barcelona are interested in signing a highly qualified Portuguese coach – but face a €30m hurdle

Barcelona are in no rush to appoint their next manager, with Xavi Hernandez stepping down at the end of the season. However, this has not stopped the club from making moves to limit the search for their new coach.

The likes of Hansi Flick, Thiago Motta and Rafael Marquez have all been linked, with the former perhaps as the leading candidate at this stage. However, Barcelona are keeping their options open, and one coach who has taken a liking is Sporting CP's Ruben Amorim.
