Barcelona's defeat at Real Sociedade continued to grow dearer as their top scorer and most creative player were subsequently ruled out. The Blaugrana have confirmed Robert Lewandowski has a back injury, while Lamine Yamal is suffering from an ankle problem.
The Polish forward will not travel with his international squad after sustaining a blow to his back during their match on Sunday night – Lewandowski is expected to be out for about 10 days, says the club. Teenage star Yamal plates he will miss about two to three weeks, as it is an ankle problem, concerning both his ligaments and a membrane. He will also be off Spain duty as he faces Denmark and Switzerland in the Nations League.

Lewandowski should be back in time for Barcelona's next game, a tricky trip to Celta Vigo in Balaidos. There is further concern over the fitness of Lamine Yamal for the upcoming matches, who could miss that game, as well as their Champions League clash with Brest, and their home game with Las Palmas, depending on his recovery. The teenage winger must return for their trip to Son Moix to face RCD Mallorca on December 4.
Lamine Yamal sat out Barcelona's loss to La Real, and the effects were evident as he struggled to overcome the Basque pressure being applied to him. His importance to their attacking system is obvious, and given both of their La Liga defeats this season have come without him starting, any game without him now looks like an uphill task.
