Barcelona expect the goalkeeper's target to cost more than 40 million euros

Over the past six weeks, Barcelona have decided that signing a new goalkeeper will be on the club's agenda for next summer's transfer window. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen will always be counted on his return from a serious knee injury, although the idea will be to remove it slowly in the coming years.

FC Porto and Portuguese national team goalkeeper Diogo Costa is considered Barcelona's main target at this stage, although they are also interested in Lille's Lucas Chevalier, who has been tipped to be France's number one in the future. The 22-year-old, who kept a clean sheet against Real Madrid earlier this season, is highly regarded across Europe.

It will not be easy for Barcelona to sign him in 2025, as it is Sport say that the asking price of Lille would be more than 40 million euros – for a “custodian, this is considered a very significant amount”.

It remains to be seen how Barcelona sports director Deco approaches the situation before the opening of the transfer market next summer. He has a big job on his hands to decide the best goal, and Chevalier should figure prominently in his thoughts.
