Real Madrid were furious after their 3-3 draw against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night, particularly regarding multiple refereeing decisions. However, one that has been pointed out as possibly going in their favor involves Vinicius Junior.
During the second half in Vallecas, Vinicius was shown a yellow card for dissent, after yelling at the referee Juan Martinez Munuera in the field. He was perhaps lucky to avoid further punishment, although it means he will not be able to play against Sevilla next weekend due to the suspension.
However, Barcelona feels aggrieved that Vinicius is only warned about the incident, as per MD. They especially feel that way when they take into account Hansi Flick's dismissal against Real Betis last weekend, which landed him a two-match ban.
Refereeing is always a polarizing debate in Spanish football, especially when it involves Barcelona and/or Real Madrid. It is no surprise that the two clubs clashed over this matter.
