Barcelona have dealt a hammer blow in efforts to sell the player before the transfer window closes

Earlier this week, Barcelona finalized the sale of Julian Araujo to Bournemouth – a necessary move in their efforts to have their entire first-team squad registered before the end of the summer. However, more needs to be done, and more sales are expected before the transfer window closes on August 30.

One player Barcelona have said they want to sell is Ilkay Gundogan. The German midfielder is not expected to play as important a role as in his first season at the club, and given his age, it could be the last time a significant sale could take place.

However, Relief they reported that Gundogan has no intention of leaving this summer. His idea is to continue as a Barcelona player, despite the interest reported by clubs in Türkiye.

Gundogan may not play too often this season, but he should still be a very important player for Barcelona. His experience and leadership are invaluable at a relatively young age, so a departure would not be wise anyway, even despite the club's financial problems.
