Barcelona have been without the services of Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen for almost the entire 2024-25 season so far. The former tore the muscle in July, while in Christensen's case, he was forced to undergo surgery to deal with an Achilles tendon injury shortly after the opening day win against Valencia.
Araujo is soon to return in the next 2-3 weeks, and will be counted immediately by Barcelona coach Hansi Flick. However, the same cannot be said of Christensen, and Relief say the Danish defender will almost certainly be sold at some point in 2025, either in January or next summer.
Christensen has lost a lot of prominence during his injury absence, with Inigo Martinez surpassed him in Flick's thoughts. In addition, with a new center back already being soughtit means the 28-year-old is not needed from next season.
It is noted that several Premier League clubs have looked at Christensen's situation. Barcelona will hope to receive a significant fee for him, although that may not happen as his contract expires in 2026.
