La Liga has announced at the beginning of September that Barcelona's salary cap had increased by more than 100% since January, from just 200 million to 426 million euros this summer, which many took to mean that there was significant progress. However, after announcing his account details for the 2023-24 season, Barcelona says whose salary is projected to be around 500 million euros for the 2024-25 season, meaning that they are at least 74 million euros outside of the so-called 1:1 rule.
In essence, it means that Barcelona will continue to be restricted to being able to use 60% of the money they make or save to register new players, which could be significant in the second half of the season.
