The president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, celebrated his “victory” over the temporary re-recordings of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor strong in the bones of the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, but their efforts were not the only ones involved in the decision.
According to TV3Several Barcelona stars threatened to quit Spain duty if Olmo was not registered. They claim Lamine Yamal, Gavi, Pedri, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez and Marc Casado were all set to miss international duty in March when Spain play the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the Nations League. The players in question would have claimed minor injuries to avoid Spain duty, in solidarity with their teammate.

If Olmo was not registered, he would not only be banned from playing for Barcelona, but also banned from playing for La Roja. This report has yet to be confirmed by other sources, but it should be noted that the decision to grant Barcelona a temporary injunction was taken by the CSD, a government agency, and not by the Real Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
