According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have submitted a bid for Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah.
It has recently been reported that Barcelona are on the hunt to add reinforcement to their backline before the end of the transfer window.
While RB Leipzig’s Mohamed Simakan was initially identified, the Spanish outfit elected against making a move for the Frenchman, who is now linked with a move to Newcastle United, due to Die Roten Bullen’s €50 million demand.
However, Barca had also shown interest in Tah, and as stated in the report, the Blaugrana have now made an official €20 million bid for the German international.
It is understood that Barca would include additional future add-ons in the deal as they look to withdraw Leverkusen from their €30 million valuation of the defender.
Nevertheless, it is now expected that Bayern Munich will look to reignite their interest in Tah, with those in charge at the Allianz Arena set to have a meeting later today in order to discuss a potential move for the 28-year-old.
Just a matter of weeks ago, it appeared as though Tah was destined to remain at the BayArena, but now, Barcelona and Bayern are set to go head-to-head for his signature.
